NATIVE NATIONS AFFIRMATION
We acknowledge that the land we gather today is the ancestral and current homeland of the Tohono O'odham and Pascua Yaqui (Yoeme) peoples. These lands have been home to Indigenous communities since time immemorial, who have cared for and stewarded them through generations.
We recognize the Tohono O'odham and Pascua Yaqui Nations' deep history, cultural resilience, and enduring presence, whose contributions continue to shape this region. We honor their sovereignty, traditions, and connection to this land and commit to learning from and supporting Indigenous communities in meaningful ways.
We invite all participants to reflect on their relationship with this land, to seek opportunities for engagement with local Native communities, and to act in ways that support Indigenous self-determination and cultural preservation.
