In order to access the support mechanisms that are available for arts education projects, activities and classes, stakeholders have to be literate in three key areas:
Advocacy

Available Opportunities for Artists, Arts Organizations and Educators

Carol Varney is a creative strategist, an empathetic listener, and a servant leader whose roots in
New England and career on the West coast of the United States inform her work. Carol is
currently the Executive Director of the Arts Foundation for Tucson and Southern Arizona, serves
on the Executive Committee of the board at Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts, and
on the Advisory Board of SPACE Gallery in Portland, Maine. A lifelong lover of and advocate
for the arts, Carol has dedicated her career to community service and engagement through
fundraising, program development, and leadership roles at a variety of organizations spanning
the arts and education.
