Johnny Lyons-Baral is a Product Manager with Hexagon Mining in Tucson, Arizona focusing on Geology and Geotech Planning Software. He has been with Hexagon Mining since 2013 and has worked on projects related to geological & geotechnical mapping, modeling and characterization, drilling and blasting, geotechnical monitoring, and remote sensing. Johnny has a master’s degree in geological engineering from the University of Arizona and in taught Geomechanics courses as an Assistant Professor of Practice in 2017/18. He has experience with: MineSight geology, blasting and CAD software; Leica, Faro, Optech and I-Site lidar; Leica/Aibot and DJI UAVs; 3DReshaper point cloud tool; Rocscience geotech; ArcGIS; GeoStudio geotech; MODFLOW hydrology. He has always had an affinity for the stability of steep terrain, with interests in rock climbing, skiing, landslides and avalanches. However, Johnny spends most of his free time enjoying his wife, 4 kids and 3 pets.
