Collaborative learning Strategies Using Technology to Engage Students -

This workshop will provide an opportunity to explore active learning strategies to support students with hands on learning techniques using 21st Century technology and will help support collaborative learning concepts applied by Pima Community College faculty to enhance critical thinking, communication and collaboration skills for students.

Mike Stack is an artist, educator, and longtime member of the Art Faculty at Pima Community College where he teaches a broad spectrum of art courses on their East Campus. There and at prior posts he has administered and taught all levels in university, college, K-12, and adult education programs. He is a passionate advocate for the demonstrated high value of arts education in preparing individuals for full, meaningful, and productive lives. His experience testifies to how deepening the vision, talent, and creative potential of students is key to success across disciplines. The building advancement of the STEAM philosophy aligns with his career-long contributions as both practicing artist and devoted teacher. A graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the University of Pennsylvania (BFA), and SUNY Purchase (MFA), Stack has exhibited widely and is the founder and coordinator of Sculpture-On-Campus, an outdoor invitational exhibition program at Pima College.
