Tucsonans have a long history of growing food in their backyards and community gardens. They eat it and share the bounty with their neighbors, but when it comes to selling their extra products there aren’t many options for your average gardener. The Abundant Harvest Cooperative is a network of backyard gardeners and farmers who collaborate to sell their products at a shared table at farmers’ markets, as well as share knowledge, resources, and build community around food. At this session you will learn more about the Abundant Harvest Cooperative, hear stories from its members, and find out how you can get involved!
Red started growing food eight years ago to address their own food insecurity and as a way to cope with loss. Their passion lies in sharing knowledge and access to local food with marginalized populations. Red has worked in commercial kitchens and farmers markets for almost a decade. They currently serve as a garden educator through Foodcorps.
